A very nostalgic piece of music for the generation who grew into their teens with post-hardcore and emo music for a soundtrack. The songs are well written and all members of the band play their parts with skill. The vocalist is very capable of harsh lows and clean harmonies. Guitar melodies are engaging. Where this album loses me is with the overindulgent synths and cheesy vocal effects indicative of the times. They haven't aged well. Overall, this album is best enjoyed by someone who was there when it was released. Looking back, not only has this style not aged well, but this album worse than others for sure. It's not the worst by a long shot, but they're stuck in mediocrity and hindered by wholly unnecessary computer effects. 6/10.

Totoally hear you on this. For me, less is better. The effects they have added pull the writing, lyrics and meanings down.I suppose for their first LP it isn't THAT bad!
